Try calling the Golden Casket office and you're warned that because of the interest in Tuesday's record-breaking $90 million Oz Lotto draw you may be on hold for some time.
"This is the biggest draw of all time," Golden Casket public relations manager Karen Anning said yesterday.
"We're expecting one in three adults to buy a ticket, that's five times more than would normally participate."
Ms Anning said the massive prize amount was calculated from what was left in the division one prize pool from last week's draw – $59 million – together with the expected level of interest this week in the jackpotted amount.
"We're guaranteeing $90 million, but it may go beyond that," she said.
She said the previous biggest lotto win was a $58.7 million Powerball prize won in June last year.
Punters have until 7.30pm on Tuesday to buy their ticket, but Ms Anning warned people not to leave it too late.
"We're encouraging people to buy their entries now as we had one store in Melbourne that ran out of paper last week," she said.
Last year, more Gold Coast residents than anywhere else in Queensland enjoyed big Lotto wins, winning $25,056,910 in first division prizemoney.
